Best Time to Visit Bali: A Month-by-Month Guide

Dry season, shoulder months, surf and crowds — exactly when to go to Bali for the trip you have in mind.

Bali is a year-round destination, but the experience shifts noticeably between its two seasons. The dry season (April to October) brings sunny skies, calmer seas and the island at its postcard best. The wet season (November to March) is greener, quieter and cheaper, with short tropical downpours rather than all-day rain.

The sweet spot: April, May, June & September

These shoulder months deliver dry-season weather without peak-season crowds or pricing. Rice terraces are lush, waterfalls are full and you'll have an easier time with villas and restaurants.

Peak season: July & August

Bali's busiest and most expensive window, coinciding with European summer holidays. Book villas and popular tours well in advance, and expect more traffic in the south.

Green season: November to March

Don't write it off. Mornings are often clear, prices drop and the island feels calmer. Pack a light rain jacket and plan flexible indoor-friendly afternoons.

Quick answer

For the best balance of weather, value and atmosphere, aim for May, June or September. For honeymooners chasing guaranteed sun, July offers the driest skies — just book early.
